Another Round Of Strong To Severe Weather Threat

The National Weather Service in Birmingham says a storm system will develop across the Central Plains today and move toward the area tonight into Friday, with conditions supportive of severe thunderstorms with all hazards possible and the higher potential across the southeast portion of the area.

Where: All of Central Alabama with the greater risk across the southeast portion of the area

When:  Friday from 9 am through 5 pm

Threats:  Damaging winds up to 70 mph

Hail up to quarter size

Some tornadoes possible

Area Residents Should be prepared for the possibility of power outages with cell phones fully charged prior to the weather event, have batteries for flashlights, and auxiliary heat in the event of a power outage with electric heat.
