Gadsden Will Soon be Renovating the Noccalula Falls Park & Campgrounds

Gadsden will soon be renovating the Noccalula Falls Park & campgrounds. The City Council accepted a bid of more than $11 million by Lambert Contracting for the project.

Noccalula Falls officials say the park was designed during the late 60′s and 70′s and is not modern enough to accommodate many features associated with today’s campgrounds and parks. With this huge investment, park officials believe now is the time to upgrade and modernize this local attraction that so many come to visit.

“So we are going from about 120 sites we are downsizing just a little bit down to about 80 sites but they are all going to be full hookups, good size sites, they can accommodate any size RV. It’s a very old campground, most of the sites they don’t fit today’s RV’s anymore so we’re really excited to see this upgrade for sure it’s something that’s been needed,” said park supervisor Christina Richardson.

Park officials say construction will begin within the next two weeks while closing the campgrounds. The new renovations are expected to be completed within a year.
