Mayor Bill Baker announces the return of the “Piedmont Polar Plunge”, a chilly tradition that not only promises a thrilling experience it also aims to make a difference in the lives of those battling cancer. That event is scheduled to take place at the Piedmont Aquatic Center, on Saturday, January 13th, at 10:00am.
The Polar Plunge invites all participants to take a “bracing” dip in the icy waters to raise funds for a charitable cause. All proceeds from the event will go to the Venecia Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing aid, support, and comfort to cancer patients and their families. The cost to take the plunge is $10, and that event is open for anyone and everyone to attend. Spectators can enjoy that spectacle FREE of charge – and donations are greatly appreciated.
The Venecia Foundation, the recipient of the funds raised, operates as an incorporated, 501©(3) non-profit organization – their mission is to help brighten the days of those undergoing cancer treatment through offering support, faith, and love to patients and their families.
Donations can be mailed directly to Venecia’s Foundation at PO Box 572, Piedmont, AL 36272.
