ATTALLA – The Cherokee County Lady Warriors improved to 16-3 on the season with a 54-16 basketball rout at area rival Etowah on Saturday.
Mary Hayes Johnson collected 11 points, seven steals, three rebounds, two assists and a block for the Lady Warriors. Audrey Haygood also scored 11 points to go along with two steals, a rebound and an assist. Nevaeh Gaidurgis came away with nine points, three rebounds and a steal. Ava Haygood finished with eight points, three rebounds, two assists and a steal.
Carlee Barksdale led the Lady Blue Devils with eight points.
Cherokee County jumped out to an 18-5 advantage at the end of the first quarter. The Lady Warriors led 28-8 at halftime and 43-15 after three quarters.
Cherokee County hosts White Plains on Tuesday beginning at 5:30 p.m.
