The Cloudland Volunteer Fire Department has the distinction of serving residents that live in two different states, two different counties and two different time zones. 

Volunteer firefighters at Cloudland serve residents on Lookout Mountain in both Chattooga County, Georgia and in Cherokee County, Alabama.  According to a report recently released – by Cherokee County Emergency Management Agency Director Shawn Rogers, Cloudland’s Volunteer Fire Department responded to eleven (11) calls in Cherokee County (2023) in the past year.  Rogers pointed out that most of those calls, were dispatched to Alabama, by Chattooga County 9-1-1.

We would like to thank Chattooga County, Georgia, for all their efforts in the Mutual Aide agreement between the two states.
