One person was hurt on Saturday, in a two-vehicle accident that involved a passenger car and an 18-wheeler on Highway 9 north of Cedar Bluff.

The collision occurred at the location of the Country Store and the driver of the car, was transported to a nearby medical facility, for the treatment of her injuries.

Meanwhile the driver of the big rig, a Hispanic male, was reportedly unable to speak English clearly, hampering greatly his ability to communicate with the members of law enforcement on the scene.   He apparently escaped injury in that collision.

The cause of that wreck remains under investigation.
