Mr. Jimmy Singleton, 80 of Leesburg passed away on Saturday, December 30th at his residence.
Funeral services will be 2 PM Saturday, January 6th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Melvyn Salter officiating, burial will follow in Cherokee Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12 PM until 2 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers include Sammy Lindsey, Kenneth Lindsey, Larry Lindsey, Wayne Lindsey, Ronnie Davis Jr. and Kevin Nixon. Honorary pallbearers include Nathan Weaver, Vance Lewis, Billy Wayne Harris, Tray Simpson, Craig Newman, Donnie Porter, Cody Pool, Bud Johnson, Danny Keener and Tony Keener.
Survivors include son, Greg (Pamela) Singleton; Daughters, Leanne (John) Craft and Krista (Stacy) Blackmon; brother, Terry (Bonnie) Singleton; grandchildren, Cody Blackmon, Kacie (Jason) Russell, Allison (Jared) Crum, Meleah (Zach) Nesbitt and Nicholas Singleton; great-grandchild, Mallie Faye Russell; dedicated friend and caregiver, Leigh Bishop; his former wife of 40 years and the mother of his children, Judy Keener Singleton.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie Davis; sisters, Johnnie Womack and Dot Green.
Jimmy was a native of Cherokee County, Alabama and the son of the late W.G. Singleton and Madeline Lindsey Davis. He was raised by his grandparents Grady and Lois Lindsey.
Jimmy was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed woodworking and building bluebird boxes. Often, you would find him playing pool with his friends on Wednesday afternoons. Football was another favorite pastime and he loved watching the Crimson Tide.
Jimmy will be missed by many, but memories of him doing his favorite things will live on forever.
