The Summerville Police Department has just released a report regarding a man arrested on Favor Street on drug charges, back on Christmas Eve.
It began when someone reported a suspicious person in the parking lot of the Dollar General Store – at the corner of Kelly and Commerce Streets around 7:15am.
Police responded – and saw a man in camouflage clothing running across Commerce Street; an officer then pulled onto Favor Street behind the old Armstrong’s Restaurant – and saw a man in camouflage sitting in a white van. When officers spoke to the man, he denied being the one the officers had just seen running across the street. While speaking with the individual – officers observed a syringe cap inside the driver’s vehicle.
The suspect denied having any drugs – however officers found suspected methamphetamine crystals in the driver’s seat and also saw fresh needle marks on the suspect’s arms. Kevin M. Thomas, age 52 – was arrested and charged with the possession of methamphetamine, the possession or use of drug-related objects, also possession of synthetic narcotics – and he was also charged with drugs to be kept in original container, and was booked into the Chattooga County Jail.
