TALLAPOOSA, Ga. – Rockmart built a 15-point first quarter lead and held off Spring Garden 58-51 in the Hilburn-Patterson Haralson County Boys Basketball Invitational on Thursday.
Tristan Anderson led Rockmart with 18 points. Sam Johnson added 11 points, including a pair of 3-pointers. Trey Luke tallied 10 points. Treylin Davis and Hunter Atkins finished with nine and seven points respectively.
John Welsh topped the Panthers with 17 points. Connor Bates tossed in 15 points and Jake Welsh finished with 13 points.
Spring Garden trailed 21-6 at the end of the first quarter and 31-20 at halftime. Rockmart held a 46-29 advantage heading into the fourth quarter and held on down the stretch for the win.
Spring Garden continues tournament play on Friday.
