In the Cherokee County Arrest Files for the Previous 24 Hours:

MIKEL MCGATHA, 43 of Centre arrested by the Centre Police Department on charges of Failure to Appear on prior charges of Theft of Property 4th Degree;

RONALD LASSETER, age 58 of Hokes Bluff – arrested by the Centre Police Department – charged with Trafficking, and Driving under The Influence of Alcohol;

RODNEY NEWTON, 50 from Centre, was arrested by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office on charges of Violation of the Prohibition Law;

JUSTIN LEE, age 40 from Piedmont, was arrested by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office on charges of Driving Under the Influence;

DARRELL MACKEY, age 42 of Piedmont arrested by The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office on charges of Domestic Violence 3rd Degree;

And

VICKIE PIERCE, 51 of Centre – arrested by the Centre Police Department on charges of Stalking 2nd Degree.

All arrests are based on probable cause – and all subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. 

Currently, there are a total of 91 inmates housed in the Cherokee County Detention Center.
