TALLAPOOSA, Ga. – In the Hilburn-Patterson Haralson County Invitational on Wednesday, John Welsh netted 14 points and Jake Welsh added 11 to lead the Spring Garden Panthers to a 42-38 boys basketball win over Bowdon, Ga.
Cole Bailey contributed seven points for the Panthers. Connor Bates and Chapel Pope both finished with five points.
Spring Garden held a 6-5 lead at the end of the first quarter. The two teams were deadlocked at 18 at halftime. The Panthers pulled ahead 32-27 at the end of three quarters and held on for the win.
Spring Garden plays Rockmart, Ga., at 3:30 p.m. in the tournament on Thursday.
