Rome Resident Charged with DUI

A Rome, Georgia woman was arrested for Driving under the Influence, at a checkpoint in Chattooga County earlier this month (December). 

According to an incident report filed with the Georgia State Patrol Public Information Office that was released on Friday of last week – the woman was traveling on Highway 48 – and was stopped at a checkpoint near the intersection of Raccoon Creek Road.   When the driver rolled down her window to speak with the state trooper he could then smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. 

The woman told the trooper, she had indeed smoked marijuana earlier in the day – saying she and some friends had been in Chattanooga earlier and her friends had been smoking pot in the vehicle.    The driver declined a sobriety test and was subsequently arrested.

Brittany Gabrielle Mason, age 22 was charged with DUI for drugs and she was booked into the Chattooga County Jail.
