CENTRE – The Cherokee County Lady Warriors went on a 20-0 first quarter run and cruised to a 53-19 basketball win over visiting Cleburne County on Thursday.
Mary Hayes Johnson led the Lady Warriors (8-2) with 20 points, including four 3-pointers. Nevaeh Gaidurgis added 12 points, all in the first half. Deannia Starr scored 11 points and Ellisan Givens finished with five points.
Glorianna Brown led the Lady Tigers with nine points.
Cherokee County travels to Southside in Gadsden on Friday.
