Watch Out For Bagged Spinach Salad Being Recalled in Alabama

Bagged spinach salad sold in Alabama and four other states has been recalled over concerns it could be tainted with listeria.

Fresh Express has issued the voluntary recall over Fresh Express Spinach, 8-ounce size, with product code G332 and a use-by date of Dec. 15 and Publix Spinach, 9-ounce size with product code G332 and use-by-date of Dec. 14.

According to the Food and Drug Administration, the salads could be tainted with listeria, a bacteria that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, elderly people or others with weakened immune systems. Listeria infections can also cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
