MONTGOMERY – Area volleyball teams will see some shakeups beginning next fall. The Alabama High School Athletic Association approved its new alignments for the 2024-26 seasons on Monday, including Cedar Bluff and Collinsville moving up in classification.
Cedar Bluff bumps up to Class 2A, Area 13 and will compete against defending state champion Pleasant Valley, runner-up Sand Rock and Gaston.
Class 1A, Area 12 is comprised of Gaylesville, Spring Garden, Faith Christian, Jacksonville Christian and Woodland. Woodland is moving down from Class 2A.
In Class 3A, Piedmont, Glencoe, Ohatchee and Westbrook Christian comprise Area 12, while Collinsville, Fyffe, Geraldine and Sylvania make up Area 13.
Cherokee County will compete in Class 4A, Area 12 along with Alexandria (moving down from 5A), Hokes Bluff and White Plains.
