Authorities search Lake Guntersville for duck hunter whose kayak capsized

Authorities are searching for a man who they said did not resurface on Saturday after his kayak capsized at Lake Guntersville in north Alabama.  Few details have been released by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency and the man has not been identified.  However, ALEA Sgt. Jeremy Burkett said the man was duck hunting at the lake – when the incident happened around 8:00am Saturday, near Goose Pond Resort in Jackson County.

State Troopers with the ALEA Marine Patrol Division and Aviation Unit responded, and are working with other agencies in a search effort.  Also assisting:  the Alabama Department of Conservation & Natural Resources and the Scottsboro and Jackson County Rescue Squads.

Burkett says the search is on-going.
