SPRING GARDEN – In a battle of ranked Class 1A, Area 12 girls basketball teams on Thursday, top-ranked Spring Garden bested No. 9 Cedar Bluff by the final of 68-14.

Ace Austin sank connected on four 3-pointers and finished with 18 points, eight steals, seven assists, six rebounds and two blocks for the Lady Panthers (10-0). Libby Brown connected on five treys and had 17 points to go along with three rebounds and a steal.

Maggie Jarrett and Avery Steward added nine and seven points respectively. Chloe Rule finished with six points, six rebounds, two steals, two blocks and an assist.

Both Spring Garden and Cedar Bluff (6-5) play in the Cherokee Classic sponsored by AlabamaONE Credit Union on Saturday at Sand Rock. Spring Garden takes on New Hope’s girls at 5:30 p.m. Cedar Bluff battles Wellborn’s girls at 10 a.m.
