Fyffe boys pull away from Collinsville in fourth quarter

FYFFE – The Fyffe Red Devils broke a third-quarter tie by outscoring Collinsville 27-16 to take a 68-57 boys basketball win on Tuesday.

Fyffe led after one 19-11 and 30-25 at halftime before the Panthers managed to tie the game at 41 heading into the fourth quarter.

Isaac Slaton led the Red Devils with a game-high 21 points, including a pair of 3-pointers. Brodie Willoughby sank five treys and had 17 points. Cooper Cox contributed 10 points. Jesse Burt scored nine points, all in the fourth quarter. Jacob Cagle finished with seven points.

Jake Middlebrooks led Collinsville (5-3) with 16 points and eight rebounds. Zach Clanton contributed 13 points including a pair of treys. Dawson Cothran also tossed in 13 points along with seven boards. Mason McAteer managed seven points and Gavin Lang finished with six points on a pair of 3-pointers.

Collinsville plays Cherokee County at Sand Rock in the Cherokee Classic Basketball Tournament on Friday at 6 p.m.
