Mr. Sammy E. Chesnut, age 71, of the Tuckers Chapel community passed away on Monday, December 11, 2023. A graveside service will be held at 1PM Thursday, December 14, 2023 at Tuckers Chapel Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 12PM until the time of service at the church.
Sammy was preceded in death by his parents, Troy and Jean Chesnut and brother, Tommy Chesnut.
Survivors include his wife, Jenny Chesnut, children Lynsie (Pat) Guin, Erin (Kerry) Adams, Ricky (Hilary) Ganey, and grandchildren, Daniel and Samuel Guin, Mason and Lilah Jane Ganey, and many extended family.
Sammy retired from CSX Railroad after 46yrs of service, followed by 10yrs as owner/operator of his excavation company, Sammy’s Grading.
His most favorite past time was being a Papa. Sammy loved his church, family and friends. Most days you’d find him tinkering around in his shop, crafting up new projects, or playing on a bobcat.
