The Alabama Sports Hall of Fame inducted Bart Starr with its Class of 1976, one year before the Green Bay Packers quarterback was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility.

On Wednesday, Starr’s membership in the two sports shrines will come together in Birmingham when the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame opens a display featuring Starr’s gold jacket and ring.

The gold jacket and ring are emblematic of membership in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and Starr’s widow, Cherry Starr, has donated the quarterback’s gold jacket and loaned his Pro Football Hall of Fame ring to the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame for display.
