The Rome Police Department is investigating an armed robbery Sunday at the Latino Food Mart in West Rome.

According to a Rome Police Department report, a skinny man, about 5’ 3” went into the store at 702 Shorter Avenue, wearing a mask and gloves.  The suspect got a drink from the cooler – and he then walked around the counter holding a gun; the man got money out of the register, and left the store.   It’s estimated that around $4,500 was taken and according to reports the suspect was last seen walking toward Red Lobster.
