Motorcycle Driver Charged In Connection With Accident In Mountain View
A 27-year-old Trion, Georgia man has been arrested on charges related to a single-vehicle motorcycle accident that happened on Mountain View Road at around 4:30 on Sunday afternoon. The Georgia State Patrol says James Earl Dover and a passenger were on a 2020 Yamaha motorcycle when he lost control of the bike in a curve.
Both Dover and a passenger, 28 year-old Chastity Godfrey – were thrown from that motorcycle and sustained injuries – they were taken by Atrium Health Floyd EMS to a Rome hospital for treatment. Dover admitted to troopers, that he had been consuming alcohol prior to the accident. A witness told the State Troopers, that Dover was seen in a parking lot of a nearby convenience store “popping wheelies” prior to the accident.
Dover has been charged with DUI/Driving Under the Influence, Expired Tag, the Failure to Maintain a Single Lane, either Suspended or Canceled registration, serious injury by motor vehicle and violations of conditions for a limited driving permit.
Dover was booked into the Chattooga County Jail Wednesday morning.
