Coosa (Ga.) sweeps Cedar Bluff in Monday basketball action

CEDAR BLUFF – Hunter Stallings netted a game-high 19 points, including three 3-pointers, but they weren’t enough to lead the Cedar Bluff Tigers past Coosa (Ga.) in boys basketball action on Monday night. The Tigers fell short by the final of 59-53.

Isaac Bishop added 11 points for Cedar Bluff. Daishaun Johnson rang for nine points. Israel Morrison finished with five points.

Jamarion Bryant led the Eagles with 13 points. Jimbo Mitchell managed 12 points, including a pair of treys. Jaylon Worfford came away with 11 points. Khyden Turner and J.D. Lowe finished with nine and eight points respectively. Lowe sank a pair of treys.

Coosa led at each of the quarter breaks. The Eagles held a 20-14 advantage at the end of the first quarter. Their lead expanded to 37-22 at halftime. Coosa led 48-35 at the end of the third quarter and held on in the fourth for the final.

In girls action, Coosa claimed a 56-39 victory over the Lady Tigers.

Za’Niya Kyle led the Lady Tigers with nine points and three steals. Caley Bruce and Kylie Vadon both netted eight points. Ciana Smith finished with six points, four steals and three assists.

Cedar Bluff plays at Collinsville on Tuesday.
