Governor’s Mansion Now Open for Candlelight Tours December 11th and 18th

Montgomery – Governor Kay Ivey will open the Governor’s Mansion for candlelight tours on Mondays, December 11th and 18th, and those tours will be from 5:30 – 7:30 each evening.Although the tours are FREE all those attending must have tickets for the self-guided tour; tickets are now available at the Governor’s Mansion gift shop located at 30 Finley Avenue across the street from the side entrance of the mansion – or the Alabama Tourism Department gift shop – which is located in the Center for Commerce – from 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.

Governor Kay Ivey says: “Each year – I’m excited to share the beautifully decorated Governor’s Mansion with my fellow Alabamians; I invite every Alabamian, both young and old, to come out and pay a visit the Mansion to view all the Christmas decorations in an upcoming Candlelight Tour.”  The Governor’s Mansion is a 1907, Colonial Revival House, at 1142 South Perry Street in Montgomery – and has served as the official residence for governors of Alabama since 1951.
