An accident took place Saturday in Piedmont – when a group of motorcycles were traveling together – and as one of those bikes came to a sudden stop, the operator hit the curb of the roadway after he was catapulted over the handlebars. He suffered a head injury and he was air-lifted from the parking lot of the Piedmont Police Department for treatment.
That subject was flown from the lot to the UAB Medical Center’s Trauma Unit in Birmingham. According to Piedmont Police Chief Nathan Johnson, the subject is from Gadsden.
We’ll have additional information as it becomes available.
