Rome Police arrested two individuals – Tyrin Lamar Ferguson – 33 of Acworth, and Haley Brianna Thompson – 27 of Rockmart, on various felony charges after a South Broad Street traffic stop turned up numerous drugs.
Reports said that Ferguson was stopped for a traffic violation –and he attempted to flee on foot after speaking with police. The arrest reported that Ferguson fought with officers, resulting in him being physically subdued; officers added that he was found to have allegedly been driving while he was under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. A search of the car resulted in police allegedly finding: multiple packages of Cocaine, Marijuana, Oxycodone, Adderall (all not in their original containers), and an opened bottle of tequila. A straw containing cocaine residue was also allegedly found in the car.
Ferguson stands charged with 4 counts felony obstruction, and the possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine, two counts possession of a schedule II controlled substance, possession of a schedule I controlled substance, three counts possession of a schedule I controlled substance with intent to distribute, open container, headlight violation, too fast for conditions, DUI – and probation violation.
Thompson was charged with possession of cocaine, two counts of possession of a schedule II controlled substance, two counts possession of a schedule I controlled substance, possession of cocaine, the possession of cocaine, the possession of a schedule II controlled substance with intent to distribute, and also drugs not in original container and an open container violation.
