Gaylesville boys drop home basketball opener to Victory Christian

GAYLESVILLE – Despite connecting on 12 3-pointers, the Gaylesville Trojans fell short in their 2023-24 boys basketball home opener on Monday to Victory Christian. The final was 58-51.

Kyler Bradley led the Trojans (0-1) with 20 points, including five treys. Kuper Bradley added 15 points, including three 3-pointers. Braden Sharp finished with 11 points, including three treys.

Peyton Scott netted a game-high 26 points, including four 3-pointers, to lead the Lions. William Wilson tossed in 16 points. Caden Wilson and Bentley Cable both finished with five points.

Victory Christian led at each of the quarter breaks. The Lions held an 18-12 advantage after one and a 28-22 edge at halftime. They maintained a six-point edge after three quarters at 42-36.

In girls action, the Lady Trojans dropped a 43-16 decision.

Both Gaylesville teams host Crossville on Thursday.
