Yes, Cherokee County has received very MODERATE amounts of rainfall over the last couple of days. HOWEVER, you can NOT yet burn leaves or brush piles, as that BURN BAN DOES REMAIN IN EFFECT.
Please, continue to exercise EXTREME CAUTION in regard to any signs of wild fires taking place around the area – and if you do see anything notify the proper authorities immediately.
Recently, in Cedar Bluff, FOUR areas were paid a visit from area Rescue/Forestry and Law Enforcement personnel – regarding a potentially dangerous – and ILLEGAL – number of fires inside of those locations – a fire/burn barrel, a bonfire, leaves, and also a trash pile.
