Authorities have now identified the inmate at the Floyd County Jail who died over the weekend.

Brandon Keith White, age 43, was a boarder from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office on several charges – Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Battery, Cruelty to a Person 65 Years Old or Older – and also Battery.  Saturday, jail staff discovered White unresponsive in his cell.  Jail staff initiated lifesaving efforts and he was transported to a local hospital.  Ultimately, those efforts were unsuccessful.

As standard procedure – the GBI has been contacted to conduct an investigation.
