Five area high school football teams have qualified for the first round of the AHSAA state playoffs. Three of those area teams will be in action on Thursday.

In Class 4A, Cherokee County (9-1) will be hosting Central of Florence (6-4) on Thursday. That game will be broadcast on WEIS (990 AM and 100.5 FM), with pregame beginning at approximately 6:30 p.m.

Also on Thursday, Class 1A Cedar Bluff (5-5) is at Wadley (9-1), and Class 2A Collinsville (8-2) will travel to Southeastern of Remlap (6-3).

The action continues on Friday, when Class 1A Spring Garden (8-2) hosts Coosa Christian (5-5) in another Foothills Tractor Game of the Week on WEIS. Class 3A Piedmont (4-6) is at J.B. Pennington (8-2).

All playoff games kick off at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 each and will be sold through GoFan.
