Man Facing Murder Charge in Gadsden

A 21-year-old man is currently being held without bond; that, in connection with a deadly shooting in Gadsden.

According to Captain Bobby Jackson, police were dispatched at 9:29pm Friday to a report of a person having been shot at Fresh Value at Canterbury Station – on West Meighan Boulevard.  When they arrived, they found the victim on the ground in the parking lot with a gunshot wound to his head, and he was then pronounced dead on the scene.  Police on Monday identified the victim as Briantez Vinson.  He was 24 and lived in Gadsden.

Jackson said detectives, within 36 hours – were able to identify and arrest the suspect.  A motive has not been disclosed.  D’amon Johnson, age 21, also from Gadsden, is charged with the murder.   He is being held without bond in the Etowah County Jail.
