On Saturday morning there was a big turnout for the very latest meeting of the Republican Party, one featuring exciting speaker Steve Marshall – the Alabama Attorney General. 

He was welcomed by Centre resident Senator Andrew Jones and Marshall spoke freely – and delivered an extremely informative speech, to all of those gathering at “The Easy Street Restaurant” – covering a large number of issues across Alabama, and here in our own back door.  Marshall, obviously glad to be back in Cherokee County covered a number of topics – including everything from world politics to local issues that demand both “common sense”, and also simply the desire to do what’s RIGHT.

Topics covered during the next 40 minutes or so included a LOT and much of that was about not being afraid to do what’s right – some of the many topics covered by Marshall included: the loss of a true law enforcement hero who sadly lost HIS life in service to others – standing up for what you believe in and NOT backing down – doing what’s “RIGHT” every time and ALL the time – and much, much more.

Following his stop in Centre he traveled to Vestavia Hills, where he took part in the National Drug Take Back Day event, with the local Police Department there.
