Spring Garden finishes third in Class 1A North Volleyball Super Regional

HUNTSVILLE – The Spring Garden Lady Panthers finished third in the North Volleyball Super Regional on Friday. They dropped a close match in five sets to defending state champion Addison 23-25, 25-16, 25-20, 20-25, 10-15, but rebounded to sweep Athens Bible 25-15, 25-6, 25-13.

In the loss to Addison, Ace Austin collected 24 kills, 11 digs, two blocks and an assist for the Lady Panthers (51-6). Avery Steward added 51 assists and two aces. Chloe Rule contributed 14 kills and three blocks. Maggie Jarrett delivered eight digs and two kills. Olivia Law accounted for 12 kills, three digs, three blocks and an ace. Layla Ingram posted 12 digs and two aces. Kristen Lewis managed six digs. Helena Ingram and Maggie Reedy both had a dig. Libby Brown finished with a kill.

In the win over Athens Bible, Rule posted 14 kills and five blocks. Austin delivered12 kills, four digs, two aces and two blocks. Steward managed 27 assists and three aces. Jarrett contributed five digs, a kill, a block and an ace. Law collected four kills, two blocks, two aces and a dig. Layla Ingram accounted for three digs, an assist and an ace. Helena Ingram had four assists and a dig. Lewis posted six digs and an ace. Brown finished with two kills.

Spring Garden will take on Faith Christian on Nov. 1 at noon in the state tournament at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
