Sand Rock finishes runner-up in Class 2A North Volleyball Super Regional

HUNTSVILLE – The Sand Rock Lady Wildcats finished runner-up to Pleasant Valley in the Class 2A, North Volleyball Super Regional in Huntsville on Thursday.

The Lady Wildcats (47-17) outlasted Donoho in five sets (22-25, 21-25, 25-22, 25-12, 15-9) earlier in the day, then fell in three sets to Pleasant Valley (14-25, 14-25, 14-25) to finish as regional runner-up.

In the win against Donoho, Rylin St.Clair accumulated 54 assists, 17 digs and four aces. Katelyn St.Clair contributed 26 kills and 24 digs. Bethany Davis delivered 21 kills and 23 digs. Chloe Stephens posted 29 digs. Zoey Handy had 11 kills and four blocks. Peyton Johnson came away with 3 blocks and Caitlyn Lynch had finished with four blocks.

In the loss to Pleasant Valley, Rylin St.Clair accounted for 13 assists and seven digs. Katelyn St.Clair managed seven kills and five digs. Davis added four kills and eight digs. Chloe Stephens had nine digs and Handy finished with four kills and two blocks.

Sand Rock will play Bayshore Christian in the state tournament at noon on Tuesday at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
