COLLINSVILLE – Quintavious Rogers scored four touchdowns, including two on punt returns of 60 and 29 yards, in leading the Collinsville Panthers to a 55-14 victory over Whitesburg Christian in Class 2A, Region 7 football action on Friday.
Rogers also ran for 49 yards on six carries. He scored the Panthers’ first touchdown on a 7-yard run in the first quarter. He later added a 3-yard touchdown run in the second.
Gavin Lang caught a 31-yard touchdown pass from Mason McAteer for Collinsville’s second touchdown, then Rogers added his two punt return scores to help provide the Panthers a 35-0 second-quarter advantage.
Lang also had an interception on defense.
Kyler Beene and Lucas McDaniel scored on runs of 2 and 53 yards to close out the first-half scoring, in which the Panthers led 49-0. Beene also had a fumble recovery on defense.
McAteer connected with Sylas Adams on a 57-yard pass for Collinsville’s final score in the third quarter. McAteer finished 4-of-4 passing for 59 yards and two scores.
Whitesburg Christian (0-8, 0-6) scored its two touchdowns in the fourth quarter. Tobin Jaeger had a 2-yard run and Brady Davis caught a 3-yard touchdown pass from Kaleb Robinson for the final.
Collinsville hosts North Sand Mountain in a battle for playoff positioning next Friday.
