Man Arrested For Meth Possession
A 56-year-old man was arrested on charges of drug possession after a traffic stop in Summerville, Georgia.
According to reports from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy saw a vehicle pulling out of the Circle K Gas Station lot that had a tag light out, and dark tinted windows. The deputy initiated a traffic stop, but before that vehicle came to stop the officer noticed something thrown from the window – and he made then contact with the driver – along with the other occupants of the vehicle – and informed the driver of the reason for the stop.
The driver was issued a citation for window tint and the deputy then asked all of the occupants about a bag of suspected crystal meth that was thrown into the highway. William Evan Ackley claimed the drugs were his and was placed under arrest on possession of methamphetamine charges.
On the way to the jail – Ackley told the deputy the drugs weren’t really his, but that the others in the vehicle said that they would “kill him” if he didn’t claim the drugs. The incident remains under investigation.
