Chattooga County Man Arrested In Floyd County

A 40-year-old Chattooga man was arrested in Floyd County on Monday night, after fleeing from law enforcement in his vehicle while reportedly under the influence of drugs.   According to Floyd County Jail records, Joshua Benton Riley of a Summerville address, allegedly fled a traffic stop in his Camaro, at speeds of 120 miles per hour on GA 1 (Highway 27).   Riley reportedly showed total disregard for public safety, while attempting to flee recklessly from the police – by driving on the wrong side of the road and running several stop signs.  When Riley was stopped, a bag of Methamphetamine and a pipe were found inside the vehicle.

Riley stands charged with felony fleeing, and also attempting to elude police, as well as felony possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug-related objects, driving under the influence of drugs, and several other driving-related misdemeanors.
