A Homicide Investigation is now underway – after the body of a woman was found in a ditch Monday morning in Guntersville.
Marshall County Coroner’s Office Personnel were dispatched to J.W. Darnell Road in Guntersville, at around 1:30am on Monday, to reports of a female found dead in a ditch. Coroner Cody Nugent said the victim was identified as: 42-year-old Athens resident Faleisha Thompson. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to Coroner Nugent, the death is being investigated as a homicide by Guntersville Police and the Alabama Department of Forensic Science.
