Coroner Cody Nugent said the victim was identified as: 42-year-old Athens resident Faleisha Thompson. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to Coroner Nugent, the death is being investigated as a homicide by Guntersville Police and the Alabama Department of Forensic Science.
