City of Collinsville City Council Meeting

Mayor Johnny Traffanstedt spoke at length about a woman who called him and wanted to use the softball fields in Collinsville. He was opposed to this because the bathrooms are already winterized and they didn’t want them tearing up these nice ball fields. The Council unanimously voted no on the matter.

Collinsville resident, Bryan Perez asked about using Gressler Park for 5 to 13 year olds to practice soccer. They want to start as soon as Wednesday October 18th and want to use the park on Wednesdays and Fridays  from 5:30 -8pm with the lights on. Coach Stanley is the point of contact person with parents and five other coaches to be there to supervise. This was approved by the Council.

The Librarian Jennifer Wilkens, was overjoyed with a check she was presented last week from State Representative Shaver in the amount of $10,000. The Mayor said he was proud for her and the Library.

According to the City Clerk the City’s Trunk or Treat on Main Street will be on October 31st from 5-8pm. On November 11th the Turkey Trot on Main Street –Food, Crafts, Corn hole Tournaments and much more will be held.

 

The next Collinsville  City Council Meeting will be on October 30th at 5pm
