Law Enforcement Training Held in Cherokee County

Recently, Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver and Chief Deputy Josh Summerford, with other staff members, welcomed Sheriff’s and their command staffs, from across the State.  This training event, started by Sheriff Jeff Shaver in conjunction with the Alabama Sheriff’s Association – has since been held in Cherokee County for three consecutive years.

Each year, 75 to 100 personnel, including about 30 of the state’s Sheriff’s, come to Cherokee County to train, and network, about contemporary issues. This year’s training included a criminal law update by District Attorney Summer Summerford, and also recruiting and retention by Performance Protocol.

Sheriff Shaver said, “I am proud to show off beautiful Cherokee County to my colleagues from across the state – many of which – had never been to Cherokee County before this event.”
