Man Facing Charges after Incident at Ingles Supermarket in Summerville, Georgia

A 33-year-old man is facing several charges, after an incident at Ingles Supermarket in Summerville earlier this month.  On Thursday, October 5th, Benjamin Thomas Wilson was under the influence of alcohol at the time, according to reports, and he is accused of jerking a vape, hanging from a person’s neck while inside the store.

Wilson then reportedly attempted to stuff a bottle of wine down the front of his pants; afterwards, he reportedly then physically assaulted Ingles employees and resisted arrest.   At that point he was taken into custody by Summerville Police – and was charged with – theft by shoplifting, robbery by sudden snatching, public drunkenness, and also the willful obstruction of law enforcement.
