Lady Warriors sweep Cedar Bluff, Hokes Bluff on volleyball senior night

CENTRE – The Cherokee County Lady Warriors swept a pair of volleyball matches on senior night for Aubrie Abernathy and Emilee Paul. They defeated Cedar Bluff 27-25, 25-22, then beat Hokes Bluff 25-10, 25-17 to improve to 25-16 on the season.

Macy Lea collected 33 assists, four aces, three digs and a kill for the Lady Warriors. Lilly Shaw contributed eight kills, two blocks and a dig. Ava Haygood delivered 11 kills, seven digs, a block and an ace. Abernathy added 11 digs, eight assists and two aces. Paul posted six aces and four digs.

Ellisan Givens came away with 14 digs, two assists, a kill and an ace. Nevaeh Gaidurgis accumulated 17 kills, 10 digs and an ace. Libby Curry managed six kills, five digs and two aces. Leila Connell had three digs and Vivian Connell finished with a dig, a kill and a block.

Cherokee County hosts its Block Out Cancer tournament on Saturday. The tournament begins at 9 a.m. and also features Sand Rock, Westbrook Christian, Brindlee Mountain, Glencoe, Jacksonville, White Plains and Fairview.
