Human remains found in Anniston earlier this year – have been identified as a missing woman – and authorities say she was the victim of a homicide.
Miya Marshall, age 36, was reported missing to Anniston Police back on September 8th, of 2022. Marshall’s family last spoke to her July 30th, 2022. Her family members told investigators that it was unusual to not hear from her for such an extended period of time. On May 15th at around 4:45pm, investigators were called to the 2600 block of Noble Street, on a report made of the discovery of a human skull. No other bones were found.
Anniston Police, Monday – identified those remains as Marshall. An autopsy performed by members of the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences determined she had been killed. The cause of her death has not been released.
