Atrium Health Floyd is inviting the public to a celebration of the “stand-alone emergency department” that’s nearing completion in neighboring Chattooga County, Georgia. The community event will take place Sunday, October the 22nd, at 2:00pm at the facility, located at 13583 U.S. 27, in Trion next to Wal-Mart.
Tours of the facility will be given following their official ribbon-cutting; health screenings and door prizes will also be available during the celebration. The $18.4 million emergency department, which will open this fall will serve residents in Chattooga County – and also portions of Walker County and northeast Alabama.
The facility features six treatment rooms, an on-site laboratory and imaging services – including an X-Ray, and also a computed tomography (CT) scanner.
Also, a Helipad there will provide quick access to Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center – which is the only Level II Trauma Center in northwest Georgia. Atrium Health Floyd’s second Mobile Mammography Coach will eventually be headquartered at that 10,884-square-foot facility to ensure more women have convenient access to the lifesaving breast cancer screenings.
