Man Fatally Injured in Etowah County Crash

A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 2:10pm Friday, Oct. 6, has claimed the life of a Gadsden man.

Micheal Ridens, age 61, was fatally injured when a 2017 Harley-Davidson motorcycle he was operating left the roadway, striking a guardrail and then a tree.  Ridens was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred on U.S. 278 near the 120 mile marker, approximately seven miles west of Attalla, in Etowah County.  

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
