Spring Garden volleyball takes down 2A, No. 1 Pleasant Valley, Cleburne County

HEFLIN – Spring Garden’s volleyball match streak continues to grow. The Lady Panthers have now won 28 straight matches following sweeps of Class 2A, No. 1 Pleasant Valley and Cleburne County on Thursday evening.

The Lady Panthers (38-3) beat Pleasant Valley 25-11 and 25-22. They dispatched tri-match host Cleburne County 25-5 and 25-10.

In the victory over Pleasant Valley, Ace Austin led the Lady Panthers with 13 kills, four digs and a block. Chloe Rule contributed six kills and a dig. Maggie Jarrett collected four kills, seven digs and two assists. Avery Steward added 24 assists and two digs. Olivia Law managed four kills. Layla Ingram posted five digs and an ace. Kristen Lewis finished with three digs and two aces.

In the win over Cleburne County, Austin delivered 14 kills and two digs. Rule came away with eight kills and seven blocks. Steward compiled 23 assists and an ace. Lewis accumulated five digs and three aces. Jarrett came away with two digs and an ace. Law had a kill. Layla Ingram contributed three digs. Helena Ingram, Libby Brown and Maggie Reedy each posted a dig. Reedy also had two aces.

Spring Garden hosts Cherokee County on Monday beginning at 6 p.m.
