Third Victim from August Crash Passes Away

An accident on  Highway 27 in Rock Spring, Georgia August 31st has claimed the life of a third victim.  That accident happened just after 9:00am near the intersection of Fields Drive and Highway 27, when a vehicle being driven by a resident of Trion, 65-year-old Jerry Glenn Payne – crossed the median – and then struck a vehicle, being driven by 41-year-old Tonya-Joan Marie Overbay of Summerville. 

Payne had suffered a heart-attack causing him to lose control of the vehicle.  Payne was pronounced dead at the scene; Overbay was taken to a Chattanooga-area hospital where she later passed away from her injuries.  

A passenger in Payne’s vehicle, 19-year-old Cameron Eli Lyons – was seriously injured and he later passed away (Saturday) due to those injuries.
