On September 28, 2023 a gray Dodge Charger was seen driving at a high rate of speed on US Hwy 278 by a Piedmont Officer. The Officer initiated at traffic stop for the excessive speed and the vehicle fail to stop and increased speed.

A vehicle pursuit was initiated and speeds reached near 100mph at times during the pursuit. Various traffic violations were observed to include passing vehicles in no passing zones.

Officers lost sight of the vehicle on Old Gnatville Rd and then was able to locate the vehicle behind a residence on Old Gnatville Rd.

Officers got out with the vehicle and discovered Spencer Lerone Dudley, age 36 of Piedmont, was found hiding behind a propane tank. Dudley admitted he was driving and there were two people in the vehicle with him one being a 7 year old juvenile.

Dudley was arrested and charged with Felony Attempting to elude and Reckless Endangerment x 2. Dudley was issued multiple traffic citations as well. He was transported to the Calhoun County Jail September 29, 2023 and a total bond was set for $42,000.
