Two Members of DeKalb County Law Enforcement Graduate from Crisis Negotiation Course

Sheriff Nick Welden would like to congratulate TWO of DeKalb County’s finest – Deputy Chief Investigator Priscilla Padgett and Investigator Paul Bell, both of whom completed the FBI’s “Basic Crisis Negotiation Course” – during the week of September 11th through the 15th – at the Jacksonville State University Training Facility.

BOTH – Deputy Chief Investigator Padgett and Investigator Bell, assist the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team in crisis negotiations and they work closely with team members to de-escalate volatile life and death incidents.

DeKalb County Sheriff Nick Welden said of the incident: “We’re lucky to have these two on our team, as it takes a special person to hold things together, be calm as needed, and get the situation under control in the end.  I have faith that these two would do a GREAT job in any situation.”
