Retired Major David Lee Hundley, age 75 of Centre passed away Thursday, September 21, 2023.
Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 PM Thursday, September 28, 2023, in the Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. David Dale and Bro. John Redding officiating. Burial will follow in Providence Cemetery on Highway 9. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until the time of service Thursday at the Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will include Jason Dawson, Cody Dawson, Brian Dawson, Lester Hanson, Nate Helms, Christopher Dawson, Seth Hill and Daniel Miller.
He is survived by his wife, Hertlean Dawson Hundley; son, Adam David Hundley (Rachel); Daughter, Ashley Hundley Flynt (Will); brother, John Hundley (Dorothy); sister, Madge McMillion; grandchildren, Lana Flynt, Peyton Flynt, Barrett Hundley; Vietnam Veterans.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard & Ruth Hundley; in-laws, Junior & Eunice Dawson; brothers, Bob Hundley and Carlos Hundley; sister, Kate Milbee.
David was a native of Charleston, WV, was a graduate of several military and civilian colleges to include Command and General Staff College, and he was a member of Unity Hill Baptist Church.
Mr. Hundley was also a member of the United States Army and is a Vietnam Veteran, Purple Heart recipient amongst other numerous awards.
The family will accept flowers or donations can be made to the Fairview Community Church Kids Group.
